Thank you to everyone who has taken interest in this project.
My research skills (or lack of them) failed to spot that there is already a similar library avaliable on the PEAR website.
I spent a good few days on developing the initial stages to expand this project but it looks like they have been wasted. A lesson learnt eh'.
